Caverns

Arts-based research helps us explore the possibilities of feelings and experience another reality. It's the difference between empathy and sympathy. Instead of trying to think ourselves to sympathy, we're experiencing something that helps us naturally tap into feelings, emotions, and unspeakable 'truths.'
In this painting, as we walk through exploring how the light reflects off each texture we think about how to order our thoughts. There's only one way: forward. The caverns represent ABR in that they’re symbolic of the unique nuances of the rock wall. The necessity and beauty of exploration. The light as it shines through to illuminate the fine textures of the scene. We can enjoy the feeling of sun on our faces as we move through the labyrinth, and we can choose to take respite in the shadows.
